Recently, Water Accident Lawyers was retained by a young woman who sustained very serious head injuries as a passenger on a recreational boat on the Florida intracoastal waterway on December 29, 2025. The operator of the boat who was likely intoxicated, operated the boat in a reckless manner and struck the pilings of the Woolbright Bridge in Boynton Beach. The young woman sustained severe head trauma when she was ejected from the craft. The operator then attempted to flee the scene of the accident. Fortunately there were several eyewitnesses who recorded the incident and the suspect was apprehended and cited by Florida Fish and Wildlife shortly thereafter.
Unfortunately this is not the first time I have heard of this exact type of situation. It is therefore very important to be aware that boat operators often flee the scenes of accidents for a multitude of reasons. If you ever witness something out of the ordinary on the water, like a crash, a photo or video may prove to be critical evidence in helping law enforcement arrest the individual for fleeing the scene of an accident as well as holding that person accountable for their actions in a civil lawsuit.
I would like to thank those individuals in this instance who have allowed us to now pursue justice on this young woman's behalf.
