    About Thomas Graham, Esq.

Thomas D. Graham is known for taking on challenging and unique cases and delivering exceptional results for those who need them most. He has significant experience handling all types of personal injury and wrongful death claims. Most notably, he has significant experience and devotes much of his practice to cases involving maritime injuries and deaths.

Tom has a substantial background in admiralty and maritime cases, including the representation of injured passengers, crew members, and maritime workers sailing from Florida’s shores and internationally. He regularly represents cruise passengers, passengers injured on yachts, charters, and pleasure boats, and individuals in boating collisions and disasters. He represents injured crew members in litigation in the United States and often represents cruise crew members in international arbitrations. Tom is highly experienced in maritime medical malpractice cases where sick and injured individuals are not adequately diagnosed, treated, or evacuated from cruise ships and other vessels traveling around the world. Additionally, and importantly, there is an epidemic of crime that occurs on cruise vessels and in the yachting industry. Tom takes great pride in representing the survivors of crimes, including sexual assaults and other violent crimes. He also regularly represents yacht and boating crew who are sexually assaulted by passengers and owners who break the law and overstep.

As former Chair of the Florida Bar Admiralty Committee, Tom is passionate about maritime law and educating others on its intricacies. He is asked to speak and present continuing legal education seminars several times a year on the topic of cruise line injuries, boating collisions, crimes and sexual assaults onboard, and changes and developments in plaintiff’s admiralty and maritime law.

His advocacy doesn’t stop at sea; Tom routinely represents individuals who are injured or die in extremely challenging cases on land, and these skills translate to his effective advocacy in maritime cases.

Tom has had the opportunity to try civil cases in many of Florida’s civil courts across the state. He began his career as a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he was responsible for the prosecution of felony criminal cases. Tom tried over 25 criminal jury trials and over 100 bench trials as a prosecutor. He served as the Assistant Chief of Miami-Dade County Court.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom is licensed to practice law in Florida, Pennsylvania, and California. He was honored to receive the top score on the February 2011 Florida Bar Exam.

Tom is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Method 3-week trial advocacy program, and the Gerry Spence Method advanced advocacy graduate program, which are considered the most rigorous, prestigious, and important trial training programs available to plaintiff lawyers.

Tom’s dedication to the legal profession is evident in his leadership roles within the legal community at the local, state, and national level. He is also a writer and speaker on Personal Injury and Maritime Law. Thomas D. Graham is not just an attorney; he’s a powerful advocate committed to making a difference in the lives of those he represents.
